Solar cables are interconnecting cables used in photovoltaic (PV) power generation. They connect solar panels to other electrical components of PV systems. Designed with UV resistance and weather resistance, solar cables can be used within a wide temperature range and are usually installed outdoors.
For conductor materials, options include high-purity bare copper, tinned copper, or high-strength aluminum alloy. For insulation and sheath materials, choices include weather-resistant cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), UV-stabilized PVC, and halogen-free low-smoke flame-retardant LSZH.
