The transition from P-type PERC to N-type TOPCon is a significant milestone in photovoltaic history. TOPCon technology utilizes a very thin tunnel oxide layer and a phosphorus-doped polysilicon layer at the back of the cell. This structure reduces recombination losses, which is the primary factor limiting the efficiency of traditional solar cells.
